When the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer begins on Saturday, September 9, attendees will be able to choose from a menu of workshops offering education tailored to specific sub-specialties or interests.
For example, those with an interest in screening will want to attend the IASLC CT Screening Symposium, which offers a full day of educational programming. And early career and first-time attendees can make connections and hear from global leaders in thoracic oncology during a workshop designed just for them.
IASLC President Heather Wakelee, MD, said the topics addressed during the Early Career & First Time Attendee Workshop are important, but unfortunately, they are not always covered in formal training programs.
“The career guidance the presenters are able to give to our newer members and attendees is invaluable,” Dr. Wakelee said. “One of the best things about attending WCLC is the opportunity to network, and this session gives people early in their career a fantastic opportunity to meet others at a similar stage, but it is also a chance to meet those who have been working in the field for a long time. Both types of connections are critical.”
Those interested in radiation oncology, social media and communications, or mesothelioma will also find workshops covering these topics. See the schedule below for a complete list of all the workshops being offered and refer to the program for more details.
