Suresh S. Ramalingam, MD, was appointed as the executive director of the Winship Cancer Institute and Associate Vice-President for Cancer at the Woodruff Health Sciences Center of Emory University on July 01, 2021. Previously he served as the deputy director of Winship Cancer Institute. Dr. Ramalingam is also the Roberto D. Goizueta distinguished chair for cancer research at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Ramalingam has served on IASLC’s Board of Directors since 2017. His research includes the development of novel, anticancer agents and evaluation of methods to individualize therapies. Dr. Ramalingam has conducted several clinical trials with molecularly targeted agents in the treatment of SCLC and NSCLC and published more than 300 manuscripts, review articles and book chapters. Dr. Ramalingam has received several awards for excellence in teaching and research. He is the principal investigator of the Emory University Lung Cancer SPORE Award from the National Cancer Institute. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Cancer, the flagship journal of the American Cancer Society.
